Black mustard

So i finally got some OK-ish pictures!
I haven't had any ID for over a month so i have been itching to get out- hence my heels post. I got my Freda's for my birthday (courtesy of my lovely girlfriend) and have only worn them out once! The worst thing is that they went into the sale and are now half the price she paid for them! CRY. So this is me scratching an itch to wear heels and show off my lovely mustard dress i purchased form ebay for £8.50!

faux fur- H+M £12.99
mustard dress- Ebay £8.50
Freda's- Jeffrey Campbell £120

NEWSFLASH (or not really)
I am doing a give-away. For a chance to win one of my customised jackets please "like" Ink, Needles and Thread on facebook and share the status which announces it. The winner will be announced on December the 20th.

Galibardy's Ganesha

Just a quick one:
I bought this T-shirt from Galibardy for £26 and I think it has quickly become my all time favourite T-shirt! By "quickly become" i mean the second i opened it (yesterday evening). I wore it too uni today and a few people commented how awesome it is. If you haven't checked out their website already you MUST, they have some other beautiful t-shirts and they are so oversized they can be worn as dresses. Their prices are so reasonable and the delivery was unbelievably fast! Such lovely thick fabric too!

tights wars

Bonjour ma cherie's,
So yesterday, when my sister left for school, I had a rummage through her clothes and found TWO pairs of tights i wanted to claim for my own. I had been after a sparsely patterned pair of tights to wear during winter so that i can show off my new tattoo and not freeze to death during the process. I found the star covered ones first, which i liked but seemed a little young for me. It brought back memories of the star tatted, myspace, scene kids of 2004. Further rummaging bought out these little babies- Henry Holland alphabet tights. Now i had seen these around for a couple of years and always wanted a pair but couldn't bring myself to part with the £15- £20 quid that they go for (especially knowing that within a day i would have shredded them). However, if you are less clumsy than me and fancy investing in a pair you can buy them in most river island's.

Anyway, apologies AGAIN for the poor picture quality- I WILL HAVE THIS SORTED SOON. Here is a small outfit post from a while back and a quick post of what i wore to uni yesterday:

Both items of clothing (jumper and dress) have been shown on my blog before- urban outfitters and primark's finest. But I don't think (correct me if i am wrong) that i have posted about the necklaces... So firstly, the crystal pendant one is from an amazing little website called Dixi and they sell the most beautiful jewellery. Also, if you are buying something from them as a gift, they send it to the person with a little note in the jewellery bag, SO CUTE. Secondly, the pentagram (NOT SATANIC)is from ebay and only cost about 90p. You can find numerous styles of this necklace just by searching "pentagram necklace". It's actually a pagan symbol which i recently developed an interest in, satanist stars are (apparently) supposed to be with two prongs at the top, for obvious reasons :)

This is not actually my room, I am staying with my mum whilst my dad has our house rewired/redecorated. So i must live in my sisters squalor for now. This also means that i have very few clothes to wear- hence the recurring items in my posts. I have been here for over a month now and hopefully i should be back home within the next week. Then i can start getting on with my jackets again! Anyway, back to the outfit:
Maroon jumper: Charity shop (originall new look) £2.99
Stripey dress/top: Charity shop £1.99
Alphabet tights: Henry Holland, River Island ~£17.00
FLUFFY SOCKS YAY: HnM, 2 pairs for around £4

Sorry about photos, sorry about room, sorry about jackets, sorry about stuff.
Feel free to ask questions!

dupe me up.

HAD to share these guys! They are hellbound dupes from ebay and can be found HERE. They only cost £26.99 with a small fee for p+p- you literally cannot go wrong! I will be doing a full post on mine when they arrive but for now ebay pictures will have to do! You can also buy rainbow shoelaces HERE for £1.49. DO IT.

Doodlez on ma thigh...

So just a quick one before I upload a well-overdue update on my latest purchases/ outfits and an update on my jackets. I recently got my thigh tattooed! This was my second tattoo and was a lot bigger than my first one which was a quote from a book- called the bell jar (by Sylvia Plath) and a feather quill. I drew the face/ design for this tattoo with the idea of a native-american woman wearing a wolf headdress but couldn't draw the wolf and so the tattooist redrew it for me...AND I LOVE IT. I am aware that women did not wear the headdresses traditionally but that was an intentional mistake and rather than representing the traditional i wanted to invoke the idea of powerful women- embodying the power of the beast. Feminism FTW etc etc. So yeah... here is the original drawing and the actual finished piece:

If you have any questions about the tattoo/ tattooist feel free to leave a comment :) I couldn't be happier with it!

Wednesday, 24 October 2012

Hey all,
So this is just a quick post to show what i wore to uni yesterday- my birthday dress. Thought I'd do a post on it as it wasn't really visible in the pictures from my birthday. I originally put this jumper from forever21 over it, but I didn't actually wear it in the end as I can never decide whether i like it or not! I've had it for a year and have only worn it a handful of times. Perhaps ebay is calling...
Let me know what you think and please like my facebook page for more frequent updates on my clothing customizations and jackets/shirts:  HERE
I have a huge collection of jackets waiting to be finished now, unfortunately I am staying away from home without my sewing machine (sob) so they will have to wait a little while longer.

65 demure

One last thing!
I forgot to mention that my little sister got me a 1965 edition of vogue for my birthday! It's so fragile and pretty! I will being doing a full post on it soon, with pictures of the best pages and I'm thinking of trying out some 60's style eye makeup with painted on lower lashes etc!

over half way too 40, not over the moon.

Good morning bloggers,
WARNING: LARGE AND IRRELEVANT POST AHEAD.So, on the weekend it was my big fat 22nd birthday and as much as i didn't feel this event to be something worth celebrating i ended up having a ridiculously busy weekend! On the Thursday my girlfriend took me to stay at the Grove hotel and we had a lovely meal, stay and breakfast! Unfortunately I didn't manage to get to many pictures of this night or the next evening (which we spent at Jamie Oliver's restaurant in St Albans). But   I'll go ahead and post the couple i did manage to get anyway:

So this is me and Nat at the grove, I'm wearing the glittery maxi skirt i picked up from primark (check previous post) and one of two crop top/sports bras I also picked up in primark! They come in a pack of two for £4 with two different colours in each pack. My studded leather jacket is from Topshop  and the necklace was a last minute DIY 'tangggg. Nat is wearing a vintage Levis jacket, a swallow T from Topman and grey skinnies.
The next set of pictures are of my present from Nat and of our meal at Jamie Oliver's restaurant on Friday night:

As you can see, I'm pretty much wearing the EXACT same thing! As we had to go straight from the Grove into London and then from Nat's to Jamie Oliver's I had very little choice of clothing available! But i did wear my brand new Jeffrey Campbells out to dinner and I am completely IN LOVE with them.
On Saturday night I had a couple of people round my house (after a lot of pressure from Nat and friends to do something). As it was organised so last minute a lot of people couldn't come (sob) but i ended up having a lovely night regardless.

The cakes were made by my mum and sister and looked sooo pretty on the cake stand and seemed to go down a treat because by the morning there were about 4 left! The red paisley/Moroccan looking dress i'm wearing in these pictures is from Urban outfitters and i got it for £45. In the Oxford street Urban outfitters they have (on the second floor) a reworked vintage section with the most amazing dresses and this is where i found mine. You can wear it with a belt like i did or just hanging loose like a shift dress for a more casual, daytime look. Lastly, i wanted to say that the false eyelashes i'm wearing in ALL OF THESE PICTURES are form primark! For years I've been wearing Eyelure naturalites eyelashes which cost around £5-6 but i lose them all the time, down the back of radiators or up the hoover etc. So i thought I'd give these £1 bargains a go and they are amazing! I recommend that everyone goes out and purchases a set! You will not be sorry! Thanks for reading my incredibly long, irrelevant, probably slightly boring post and keep an eye out for more jackets coming soon!
